Welcome to the City of Raleigh's Housing Production Dashboard. In this dashboard you will find demographic data and housing production data for the City of Raleigh.

This dashboard has three components—an interactive map, a section of interactive charts detailing overall production data, and a section of interactive charts specific to the 2020 Housing Bond.

In the map section, you can find information on City-funded projects as well as non-City funded affordable housing, such as affordable housing that received federal funding.

Helpful information

For the interactive map, units are counted as "Complete" once they have received a Certificate of Occupancy. Units in the "Pipeline" are units either under construction or in the pre-construction phase.

You may notice that City Housing Development constructed prior to 2025-2026 doesn't have quite as much information as the City Housing Development in the pipeline or completed in 2025-2026. Our methodology for tracking our housing production changed in FY 25-26. We are working on adding additional information on prior years in future iterations of this dashboard.

About the City of Raleigh's Housing Production Dashboard

For this interactive chart section, units are counted as "Complete" at different times.

For Housing Development, both Preservation and New Construction, units are considered "Complete" when they have received a Certificate of Occupancy. Until then (i.e. when they are in Pre-Construction or Under Construction), they are considered in the "Pipeline".

Home Buyer Assistance projects are considered "Complete" once homeowners have received the assistance funds from the City of Raleigh.

Home Repair units are considered "Complete" when all construction work has been finished.

A "0" in this table means the aggregate table recorded no completed units for that program in that fiscal year — it does not distinguish a true zero from a not-yet-reported figure, since the source table has no separate blank/null state.
"Sum of … (yearly and total)" for each program — Rental Units Constructed, Rental Units Preserved, Home Repair, Homebuyer Assistance, and Other Housing Impact.
